Four hours might sound like a long time, but we’re aiming to cover 1,000 years of history, numerous literary giants, historical figures and world famous architecture. When you think of it like this, the question really becomes how you could do any less than 4 hours!
Over the course of the four hours your expert guide will show you the heart of the University, alongside some of the highlights of Oxford that have encouraged tourists and pilgrims alike to visit this historic town for decades, along with those little known parts off the beaten path. This tour will also take you inside one of the oldest Oxford Colleges, where you will learn about the College system alongside receiving an in-depth explanation of how the College system works. Following this, your guide will take you to the treasury, which displays some of the rarest books owned by the Oxford University Bodleian Library. Later on, you will visit the oldest classroom in Oxford, which is so stunning it ended up being used in the filming of Harry Potter.
After an hours lunch stop (don’t worry we’ll recommend somewhere really good!) your guide will take you to one of the most beautiful Colleges where you will get a feel for student life alongside learn about the history and architecture of this prestigious institution.
Like all private tours, this can be tailored to ensure that all of your interests are met. The start times can be changed alongside the starting and ending points.
