The park was first founded in 1979 as a private sanctuary for injured animals including rescued foxes, hedgehogs and badgers. It then started sheltering many different species of unlicensed exotic animals from all over the country.
Today Shepreth Wildlife Park looks after Big Cats, Wolves, Monkeys, Otters, Meerkats, Reptiles and a variety of creepie crawlies. The park still hosts a busy ‘Hedgehog Hospital’ and participates in national and international breeding programmes for endangered species. You can enter the spooky Nocturnal House, hand-feed the ring-tailed lemurs or play with the meerkats in Meerkat Manor. It’s a delightful day out for children and adults alike!
