Ultimate Guide to St Giles’ Fair in Oxford
St Giles Fair is an annual event on the Monday and Tuesday following the St Giles Day (as we all know this is on 1st September). What makes this fair different is that is held in the middle of one of the busiest streets in Oxford (yes this does have an impact on logistics in the city, take it from a local!).
Despite that, it is a great site to see, ginormous fair ground rides, hurtling up into the sky on the backdrop of St Johns College and other traditional Oxford buildings. First recorded in 1624, the rides have only gotten larger, the Candy Floss more pink, and the chances of winning that giant cuddly bears, marginally better.
