Magdalen College is one of the wealthiest constituent colleges of the University of Oxford, and it’s also one of the prettiest. Stood right next to the stunning River Cherwell, Magdalen College Tower is an iconic part of the Oxford skyline. It is also the only college in Oxford to have its own deer park as part of the grounds.
Every year, on the first of May, students and residents of Oxford gather early in the morning around Magdalen Tower to welcome in the summer. The world famous college choir sing madrigals (and old english form of secular song) atop the college tower, after which the jovial crowd below disperse into the various pubs of the city centre for ill advised early morning drinking.
