This historic theatre plays host to a bewildering array of ballet, musicals and plays throughout the year. The New Theatre has a reputation for putting on more crowd-pleasy shows, so go along for David Hasslehoff playing an Ibiza DJ rather than McKellen doing Pinter. It’s all good fun though, and tickets are fairly cheap. Best of all, if you don’t like the show you can always sneak out to the Four Candles Pub just across the road. We recommend combining with a meal at the nearby Ashmolean rooftop restaurant. Fantastic!
