Blenheim Palace, seat of the Duke of Marlborough, is not only achingly beautiful, but also steeped in history. The Palace is the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, who once famously remarked: “At Blenheim I took two very important decisions; to be born and to marry. I am content with the decision I took on both occasions.”
The sumptuous gardens, sprawling over more than 750 hectares, contain an exquisite water garden along with formal gardens. On arrival from Oxford the group will be given a tour of the grounds, along with the aristocratic history of the Palace. You can then either enter the Palace itself or head to the Churchill Destination Exhibit.
The tour will then depart from Blenheim Palace to Winston Churchill’s grave. With an introduction to the life of one of England’s most famous sons, a visit to his final resting place caps off a truly memorable visit.
This is a half day tour with collection beginning at 8am, returning back to Broad Street for between 11am. The second trip will then take place at 2pm, returning back to Broad Street and Oxford Train station between 5pm-5.30pm.
