Many Colleges are still not open to the public post COVID-19; even those which are, have very restrictive policies for groups and limited availability on locations within the College you can actually see.
The cost for this experience is higher due to entrance fees + small ratios that we must-have for the groups. However, this tour has been named by TripAdvisor as being one of the top Tourism Experiences in world of 2020 – so we would say it is worth it! For more information, and to make a booking click here. Firstly, we highly recommend a 2 hour experience, and 98% of our bookings are for this duration. In order to give a real overview of this massive institution – we feel this works best. When allowing for questions, delays on arrival etc., it suits the majority of our clients the best.
However, we also appreciate that sometimes your timings will not allow for a 2 hour experience, and as such we have created a 1 hour.
What is missed?
This timeframe requires a less in-depth description of how the University has developed, it’s traditions, and a few key sites. In it’s standard form, it is NOT possible to cover Christ Church, Merton College, Martyer Memorial for example, from the Highlights Itinerary given above. However, if these are crucial sites for your group let us know, and we can exchange them for others – but due to the geographical layout of Oxford University, this is the best option for a 1 Hour.
Should we book a 1 Hour?
If a two hour is not possible – then yes. It is still a fantastic tour, with a huge amount of energy from our experienced student guides, some architecturally stunning Colleges, and buildings along with a few Harry Potter references. The guides will also chat with the group organisers on the day to check that what you want out of the experience is achieved – but they will ultimately be constrained by time.
