Gorgeous Gardens
If you’re in York and fancy a bit of nature without having to trek to the North York Moors, there are plenty of oases in the city you can head to. One of the best is the Museum Gardens, which is unsurprisingly the gardens of the Yorkshire Museum. The gardens are right in the city centre, and are a haven with a variety of plant species, wildlife and historical features to explore. The gardens were established in the 1830s by the Yorkshire Philosophical Society as a place to ponder the fundamental nature of existence. Lovely stuff!
